Biography
Mark Spence serves as the Dean of The School of Biblical Evangelism, which he co-founded with Ray Comfort in 2001. Since its inception, more than 25,000 students have enrolled in the school, which exists to equip Christians to confidently and biblically share their faith.
Following a dramatic conversion in 1990, Mark immersed himself in Scripture, apologetics, and Christian living. He was ordained in 1997, served nearly six years as a full-time pastor, and spent several years teaching systematically through the Bible on a daily basis.
Mark is a co-host of the internationally broadcast television program The Way of the Master, alongside Ray Comfort, Emeal Zwayne, and Oscar Navarro. The program airs on 39 networks and reaches audiences in approximately 190 countries, addressing evangelism, apologetics, current cultural issues, and the sanctity of human life. He also co-hosts The Living Waters Podcast, which airs twice weekly and ranks in the top 1 percent of all podcasts.
In addition, Mark plays a key role in the Living Waters YouTube channel, one of the largest Christian ministry platforms in the world, with roughly 1.5 million subscribers and hundreds of millions of views.
An award-winning producer and editor, Mark has worked on widely recognized films such as 180 and Evolution vs. God, which have reached millions worldwide. His most recent pro-life project, What Is It?, equips Christians to respond to the most challenging objections surrounding abortion while clearly presenting the Gospel through real street-level conversations. Through Living Waters, more than 200 million Gospel tracts have been distributed since 2001.
Mark frequently speaks at universities, churches, conferences, and events around the world, including engagements at major campuses such as UC Berkeley, UCLA, and San Diego State. He resides in Southern California with his wife, where they homeschooled their five children, and continues to labor faithfully in ministry for the glory of God.
